Cabinet of Oddities and Curiosities

This February half term  I joined Emergency Exit Arts touring their Cabinet of Oddities and Curiosities across museums in Greenwich. Each day the Cabinet was delivered to the museum and we facilitated arts workshops with visiting children and their families. We visited Greenwich Heritage centre,

Charlton House and the National Maritime museum. The children had the chance to hold and explore all the objects in the cabinet and then create their own curiosity box. They could take this box home and begin their own collection. We also had wireless headphones on which the children could listen to stories about some of the origins of the objects. The week was really successful and we got some lovely feedback from the audiences with some parents also making boxes for themselves!
